New Builds

If you are embarking on a new build, we can offer you some free friendly help and guidance from the outset, so that you can be sure to get the correct garage door that suits your personal needs.

Don’t make the mistake of letting your builder create your opening for the basic 7ft x 6'6" garage door as this will be troublesome to park your car in and out on a daily basis. We recommend a minimum of 7'6" wide x 6'6" high. By speaking to us sooner we can liaise with your builder as to what the finished look of the garage opening should be.

Modern cars are wider than their predecessors and damage to an electric wing mirror can be costly. If you have a short drive it's important to avoid the garage door kicking out and potentially damaging your car whist parked on the drive or having to move the car every time you wish to enter the garage. There are doors that lift vertically, such as a roller or sectional type of doors, which solve this problem with minimum fuss. These types of door are usually installed at the back of the opening so for finished look, it is good to have the reveals dressed rather than having to PVC cloak the cavity between the outside brickwork and the internal breeze block.

Let us work together to get the opening right first time. We mustn't forget insulated garage doors too, which stop draughts and leaves blowing under the metal Up & Over door when the door is closed.
