I rang The Garage Door Team as I wanted to replace my old garage door with an electrically operated one. We don't use the garage to put a car in but the garage is used a lot as we have 3 children who all have an assortment of bikes/scooters etc so we are in and out of there all the time. Richard came out and discussed several options with us. In the end we chose the Seceuroglide roller door as it meant we gained a little more space in the garage and we could park right up to the door which was ideal on our short drive. I had two single doors which were very narrow and I struggled to get my car in. Richard suggested removing the two doors and installing a double door in their place and even fitting an electric operator which I hadn't thought of. It made perfect sense and I agreed this was my best option. The work was completed within the day and now after 20 years of struggling I can use my garage!

I was having a new garage built and halfway through the build I had every intention of fitting a standard 7ft door not knowing much about garage doors. Richard walked up my drive whilst the build was in process and asked if I had sorted the garage door out. I had a chat with him and he advised me that it would be foolish to fit a 7ft door when he could fit a 7'6 wide door behind the opening thus giving me an additional 6 inches on the width. After considering this, I realised he was right and I would use the garage far more as it would be easier to access. I asked him about automation - it seemed a luxury to me but he said that customers who did go for automation put their cars away every night. He was right! I have not left my car out once since the door and operator were installed plus I have plenty of drive through width, I can see now that a 7ft door would have been a bad decision for me personally.

Richard joined the Garage Door Team in 2002 having spent the previous 18 years in the motor industry. After leaving school, he completed an apprenticeship as a Panel Beater and Vehicle Paint Sprayer. The last 7 years of his motor career was spent as a Bodyshop Manager.
Richard's background in the motor trade has provided him with the technical and people skills required to operate a succesful franchise.
